Terms of Use
Last updated: 11 September 2026
These terms apply when you use Bytebye. By installing or using the app you agree to them.
Bytebye is licensed to you under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard EULA). These terms add to it and do not replace it.
What Bytebye does
Bytebye scans the photo library on your device, groups photos it considers duplicates, near-duplicates, screenshots, blurry shots or large videos, and lets you delete the ones you choose. You decide what is deleted; Bytebye never deletes anything on its own.
Deletion is your decision
Photo grouping is automatic and can be wrong. Review what is selected before you delete. Deleted items go to your phone’s Recently Deleted album for 30 days, which is your window to recover anything you did not mean to remove. After that window, recovery is not possible and we cannot restore your photos.
In every duplicate or similar group Bytebye keeps one photo, which cannot be selected for deletion. You can hand that role to another photo in the group.
Free version and Bytebye Premium
Scanning is free and always shows the full result. The free version limits how many items you can clean per day and shows ads after a cleanup. Bytebye Premium removes both.
Premium is sold in two forms, and only these two:
- One-time purchase. Paid once. Not a subscription, nothing renews.
- Yearly. An auto-renewing subscription. It renews each year unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel it in your App Store account settings.
Prices are shown in the app in your local currency before you buy. Payment is charged to your Apple account. There is no weekly plan and no hidden trial charge; if an introductory price ever applies, the purchase screen states what you pay now and what you pay afterwards.
Refunds
Purchases are made through Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple under their terms. We cannot issue refunds ourselves. Requests go through reportaproblem.apple.com.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile or resell the app, and do not use it to process photo libraries you are not entitled to access.
No warranty
Bytebye is provided as is. We do our best to make it safe and correct, but we do not warrant that it is free of defects or that the grouping is always right. To the extent permitted by law, Akaya Labs is not liable for lost photos or other damages arising from use of the app. Nothing here limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.
Changes
These terms may change as the app changes. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last updated.
